Working with the Rural Outreach Center, the proposal focused on engaging with the local community to co-design an outdoor play area called the Play Path that will feature multiple installations which enable visitors to engage with each other and the environment in fun ways. Currently we in the planning stages and in the next few weeks, we will be promoting the project along with Kaboom. Stay tuned to learn more about the upcoming design workshops and the creative outputs.
After receiving the Play Everywhere Design Challenge grant from Kaboom to create the Play Path at the Rural Outreach Center, we partnered with local organizations like the Aurora Town Public Library and the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora to engage children from the community in a co-design process. Due to Covid most of the workshops were held virtually and facilitated with an activity kit that included idea generation cards, prototyping, and drawing materials. As the year progressed we were able to conduct the final workshops in person! Below are some images from the in person workshop and creations from online workshops.
